Meet Your Host – Kissy Tanael
I’m Kissy Tanael, a proud local wahine from Puraran, Catanduanes. I first stood on a surfboard at just 10 years old and instantly fell in love with the ocean. Since then, surfing has shaped not only my lifestyle but also my dream of sharing its joy with others.
Before founding this retreat, I worked as Reservation Manager at Majestic Puraran, where I gained valuable experience in tourism and hospitality. In 2023, I followed my heart and created Puraran Wahines Surfing Retreat — a space designed to empower women, support local surfers, and invite travelers to experience the beauty and culture of Catanduanes.
Today, I’m more than just your host — I’m your guide, surf sister, and cheerleader. I’m here to help you catch waves, explore our island’s hidden gems, and feel right at home within our surf family.
